Comparing world merchant fleet data from 2021 with data from 2016 (5 year period) –\u00a0 top 3 shipowning countries have remained the same: Greece, Japan and China. <\/strong>\u00a0In total the world\u00a0 merchant fleet accounted for\u00a0 2 116 401<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>( DWT ‘000) and 53 973<\/strong>\u00a0 in terms of number of ships over 1000 GT.\u00a0 All data are taken from\u00a0 UnctadStatistics<\/a> and visualized\u00a0by using Infogram.<\/em><\/p>\n
